BOISE - Thousands of music lovers jammed Ann Morrison Park Saturday for Boise Music Festival performances by Macy Gray, Backstreet Boys, Bret Michaels and others.
The Backstreet Boys fired up the crowd.
Boise police had no estimate of the crowd size, but people lined up early and even jumped fences without waiting to hand over the free tickets that sponsor Peak Broadcasting gave away.
With temperatures in the mid-90s, many concert-goers grabbed shady spots or headed to the fountain to cool off. On-site medics were able to treat most heat- and alcohol-related medical cases, but a few overheated or over-indulged revelers were transported to area hospitals.
Music fans lined up early to catch one of five shuttle buses to the festival, where parking was non-existent by early afternoon.
